- ATP is one of Australia’s longest running studies of social and emotional development. With over 40 years of data from 3 generations, our aim is to maximise the use of ATP data.

- Proposals are reviewed based on their quality, alignment with ATP strategic priorities and ATP resources
- In addition, ATP wishes to protect the reputation and legacy of the data, ensuring that all research is of a robust quality
- All proposals are reviewed based on:

- Suitability of the proposed project given the available data

- Alignment of the project to the purpose and strategic plans of the cohort

- Redundancy with other planned or in progress work

- Scientific quality of the proposed work

- ATP resources
- For all papers, ATP investigators/team members who have specific content expertise and/or have played a key role in relevant grants will be invited as authors to papers. All authors will need to meet ICMJE authorship guidelines.
Data Access
- Following the paper proposal process, and once a proposal has been approved, a data transfer agreement (DTA; or other agreement, as appropriate) will be initiated for authors not employed through Deakin University.
- Variables should be requested in an excel document listing exact variable name and label for all variables required. These should be taken from the ATP codebook.
- A dataset will then be made available to the lead author and nominated analyst (as per the DTA) via REDcap Send-It.
- Full details of the obligations of the data user, including scope of use, data sharing obligations, and data storage obligations will be communicated during the paper proposal and data access process.
