World Pneumonia Day

Please join Melbourne Children’s Global Health in recognising World Pneumonia Day, which is marked each year on November 12. This day presents an opportunity to focus on child health challenges around the world. The goal is to raise awareness about pneumonia progress, current obstacles and inequities, and promote prevention and treatment. We – as a global community – need to generate action to fight the illness by bringing together donors, policymakers, health care professionals, and the public. Despite dramatic improvements in child health in the last 20 years, too many young lives are lost to pneumonia and other common childhood illnesses. We must advocate for investments to improve child health. With presentations from Professor Fiona Russell, Associate Professor Catherine Satzke, Dr Phuong Nguyen and Dr Nick Fancourt, this will be a seminar that will celebrate how far we’ve come in the fight against childhood pneumonia, while also acknowledging the challenges still to overcome.

Please join us on Tuesday 12th November, from 12.30 – 1.30 in the Ella Latham Theatre at the Royal Children’s Hospital by registering to attend here.
