ATP began in 1983 following over 2000 babies (Generation 2) and their parents (Generation 1). The study has now been running for over 40 years; following the children from infancy, through childhood, and into adolescence and adulthood. In 2012, we began the Generation 3 study. The activities we are inviting you to take part in are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Brain quiz:<\/strong> a short online assessment of cognitive functioning<\/li>\n<li><strong>Buccal swab:<\/strong> a swab from inside your cheek for DNA cells (genetic information)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Health visit:<\/strong> some Generation 2 participants will be asked to take part in an in-person health visit<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Life@9 continues<\/h3>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The Life@9 study invites parents of Generation 3 children to complete a survey once their child turns 9.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The Life@9 study allows ATP to follow the health and development of Gen3 offspring over time. This provides a unique opportunity to understand patterns of health and wellbeing across three generations &#8211; grandparents, parents and children.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3>The ATP cohort<\/h3>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The ATP cohort includes <\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Generation 1 participants (parents to infants born in 1983)<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Generation 2 participants (born in 1983, now adults), and <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Generation 3 offspring (children of Generation 2 participants). <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Generation 3 participants were recruited in 2012.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\"
