Meet the Team: Ben Carter

Say hi to Ben Carter, lab co-manager and 2017 Honours student! Read on for more info about Ben…

Q1) How long have you been involved with the ATP?
“I first got involved with the ATP at the start of 2017, assisting with the observational aspect of the study whilst completing my Honours year at Deakin University.”

Q2) What is your favourite part about your role with the ATP?
“The interaction with the ATP participants and their families is the best part of the study! Everyone has a story to tell, and I love hearing the journey of each and every person.”

Q3) What is the hardest thing about your role?
“Working as a Lab Manager for the ATP can sometimes be tricky as there is a lot to juggle to make sure the observational sessions run smoothly… but luckily I know how to juggle!” [Note that Ben can literally juggle!]

Q4) How do you think the ATP is making a difference?
“The ATP is such an amazing study! It has been collecting data since 1983 and is now one of the longest running studies in Australia. There is lots of important information that has been collected since the study started, and I believe that it is helping to shape the story of what makes Australia how we know it today.”

Q5) When you are not at work, how do you relax?
“My way of relaxing may not seem relaxing to most… I relax by exercising, or by enjoying my other job as a kid’s party entertainer! I get to dress up as various superheroes, and I get to hang out with some awesome kids, it’s so much fun!”
