Meet the Team: Evelyn Tan

This week meet Evelyn Tan, PhD student and ATP lab co-manager. You might have met Evelyn if you’ve visited us with your child for a play session. Read more about Evelyn here:

Q1) How long have you been involved with the ATP?
“I have been a PhD student with the ATP for 2.5 years, and a Lab Manager at the Deakin University Burwood campus for almost a year.”

Q2) What is your favourite part about your role with the ATP?
“Getting to meet our Generation 3 children and their Generation 2 parents (and sometimes Generation 1 grandparents too!) – it’s heartening to see how involved and passionate each family is about the study.”

Q3) What is the hardest thing about your role?
“Trying to ensure our observational sessions run as smoothly as possible. It can be a challenge at times as children are often unpredictable, but is always a rewarding experience!”

Q4) How do you think the ATP is making a difference?
“The ATP is providing us with invaluable insight into the intergenerational and longitudinal trajectories of social and emotional development.”

Q5) When you are not at work, how do you relax?
“I love playing games, both digital and tabletop!”
